
PICCOLO: 42 MILES
The most manageable distance at the Gran Fondo, the Piccolo. Starting with a short climb up the Mammoth Scenic Loop, riders will are soon rewarded with a fun descent to Highway 395, before heading south in a bike lane that’s eight feet wide. Riders will be treated to amazing views of expansive vistas, a great perspective on the Eastern Sierra, and forests and forests filled with Jeffrey Pines on their way to Crowley Lake. At Crowley Lake, the ride will double back towards Mammoth Lakes via 395, then one final climb up 203 to your starting point.

IMPORTANT ROUTE NOTES
From the start, CHP will lead riders out to Scenic Road. Once on Scenic Road, the course is open to traffic. Riders must stay to the right and not cross the centerline.
Be alert for wild animal movement throughout the course.
All riders must carry the necessary items to fix a flat or handle minor mechanical issues.
Unchained Bicycle Garage will have three vehicles on course, but do not rely on SAG support. Riders should be self-sufficient and bring everything needed to complete the route.
Benton Crossing Road will re-open with a rolling open in the afternoon based on rider locations on course.
